BOTOX
Botox, short for Botulinum toxin, is a neurotoxic protein produced by the bacterium Clostridium botulinum. It is widely used in medicine and cosmetics for its ability to temporarily paralyze muscles, reducing the appearance of wrinkles and treating various medical conditions.
How Botox Works
Botox works by blocking the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for transmitting signals from nerve cells to muscles. When acetylcholine is inhibited, the targeted muscles cannot contract, leading to temporary muscle paralysis. This effect smooths out wrinkles and fine lines and can also relieve certain medical conditions caused by overactive muscles.
